The Open Yeast Collection, an open source toolkit for assembling metabolic pathways in yeast.
The Open Yeast Collection is a free, extensible, modular, multipart assembly collection of DNA parts for metabolic engineering in Yeast. The collection of standardized parts is being synthesized by the BioBrick’s FreeGenes program and will be be released under the OpenMTA. It uses the FreeGene Golden Gate (MolClo) assembly strategy for easy creation of yeast expression plasmids and for engineering of multi-enzyme pathways. The collection contains enzymes for teaching how to assemble a scent-based metabolic pathway but can be used to assemble and test any metabolic pathway. This demonstration workshop will explain what the collection is and how it can be used to build your pathway of interest.
